Best New Digital Camera

[I would like some help in deciding which of the new cameras reviewed in February to purchase. some of the features I am looking for are in camers battery charging, face detection, smile detection, good close up and distance ability and whatever else is important. I don’t know a lot about cameras and need something uncomplicated but will do a lot of the work for me. Thanks for the help you have been in the past.

Quicken Problem

I cannot open my Quicken 2006 program. I get a message saying that the application couldn’t start because MSVCR71.dll was not found and a suggetion to reinstall the application. I can’t reinstall the CD because my CD drive is disabled. I found 14 files with the name msvcr71.dll on my system. I have a flash drive back up copy of the Quicken file. Any suggestions? I was thinking of buying a downloadable version of Quicken and attempting to restore the backed up file.
Also, are there any alternative applications to Quicken? It seems that with every new version I install the program seems to have more problems. MS Money is no longer being produced.
Thank you!

I have a Grace internet radio and want to set Pandora Radio and Sirius radio on it. I have seen some blogs that indicate Sirius doesn’t come in very well with it. I bought it because I wanted Sirius Radio and now am interested in getting Pandora set up. I have set some stations up on the computer but can’t transfer them to my radio. Would appreciate any input anyone has.

Thank you

What are the best printers to print photos? Anyone have any recommendations? I would use the printer for basic printing needs, but really want to print photos at home so I don’t have to run out to a drug store for a few prints.

Wireless Speakers for a TV—must be outdoor capable

I have a TV in one room that can pivot and be seen in another. The problem is that most of the sound is not conveyed well. Is there a wireless speaker system you would recommend? Oh, these speakers have to also be able to handle the outdoors as the other room is a roofed, non-winterized porch that sometimes is exposed to the elements.

Thanks for your thoughts and recommendations.

John.

BTW—- Great site and fantastic information.

Suggestions for replacing a Nikon Coolpix 4200

Lisa had asked about replacing her outdated Nikon Coolpix 4200 in response to “Nikon Coolpix S1000pj Camera has Built-in Projector.” She wanted a model that would have “a decent lens, negligible delay and a viewfinder” and was wondering if $300 would get her anywhere.

It’s actually hard to find point-and-shoots with optical viewfinders these days. Most appear in high-end models. Nikon, for instance, only has an optical viewfinder available on its top two models, the Coolpix P6000 and P90. Both are good cameras, but come in over $300.

Canon is the only one that really has a selection

Canon PowerShot SD780 IS ($250)
Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS ($200)
Canon PowerShot A1000IS ($150, which we still recommend because we feel its image quality is better than the replacement model, the A1100IS)

I’d go with one of these Canon models and it wouldn’t hurt to check out “6 Ways to Speed up a Slow Camera.” The tips are applicable to any camera.

Shopping for flat panel TV

Ok so I am sure this has probably been answered many times but here goes. I am in the market for a new large screen TV. A few years ago, when I first started looking, I was told to stay away from plasma, go LCD and if I wanted to ever get a gaming system to only consider Samsungs. Well, I put my looking on hold a while and just recently got back into it. Now, I know there have been many changes to TVs since then. But, when I went back into the stores, I was confused whether samsungs were still what I needed to look for. I have heard that Sharps are the best and that LEDs was the way to go. All I know is my family wants a 55” or larger with all the bells and whistles a good tech person needs to expand on the TV with Bluray, HD, PC, Tivo, whatever…and also would be okay for a Wii system. Any suggestions?
