I recently started using a blackberry Tour from Verizon…...I’m generally pleased with the phone but found one thing that for me is a deal breaker….....I have not found a way to alter the text of an email before forwarding…..HELP!

You are right, this feature is not built into the Blackberry operating system.  However, there are two work-arounds.

1) You can cut and paste the text from the email you want to forward into a new message, and then edit as you see fit.  That method lets you change the text, but doesn’t work well for email chains and you lose all of the previous sender information.

2) There is a free Blackberry app called “Forward, Reply and Edit” that allows you to - surprise, surprise - forward and edit. I found it in the Blackberry App store, but it wouldn’t download.  Found alternative place to download here Mobihand.  I wasn’t able to try it because I don’t have a Tour available, but it says it’s compatible.

Thanks, Mobihand had part of the answer but does not allow you to forward attachments at the same time…...I have purchased a 8 gig media card for my Tour and found that if I save the attachment first to the card I can then re-attach it to the edited forward…...Not a perfect solution but enough for me to decide to keep my Tour.
