Laptop and credit cardShop for your holiday gifts online over the next week and you could nurse your turkey hangover in your pajamas, avoid the crazed crowds at malls and save lots of cash.

The annual Shop.org eHoliday survey of online retailers found that nine of ten (92.5 percent) plan to offer free shipping this holiday season, and the inducements may be more generous, as well. More than half of the online retailers surveyed (56.3 percent) said that they've boosted their free-shipping budgets this year.

Finding the deals will be easy, too, with the help of dedicated holiday shopping websites that aggregate offers, coupons and discount codes from major retailers that can be used either online or in-store. And these sites have already opened for business.

While the official start of the holiday shopping season occurs on the day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, BlackFriday2011.com is up and running now. It contains leaked Black Friday ads by major stores such as Best Buy, Kohl's, Macy's, Old Navy, Sears and Target, plus shopping tips and predictions.

Cyber Monday, the Monday following Thanksgiving, is traditionally the biggest online shopping day of the year and as in past years, more than 700 retailers who are members of the National Retail Federation have come together to support CyberMonday.com, Shop.org's shopping website. It is already up and running and features a variety of promotional offers, including discounted prices and free shipping deals.
