Acer Iconia Tab A100Powerful, compact, easy to carry and even easier to use, the new Acer Iconia Tab A100 is perfect whether you need to work on documents after office hours or simply chill out with your favorite movie or eBook. With a 7” display and a weight of only 0.92 lbs., the Iconia Tab A100 is particularly comfortable to hold with just one hand, and as it’s so compact, it easily slips into your pocket or bag.

And the Iconia Tab A100 doesn't sacrifice size for performance. It has a fast Nvidia Tegra dual-core processor and is the first 7" tablet to use the latest Android Honeycomb 3.2 operating system. Plus, the 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras are just what you need for shooting photos, recording HD videos or video chatting with family from out of town.

With the Iconia Tab A100, you get all this at a very reasonably priced $329.99 for the 8GB version and $349.99 for 16GB. Or...how about winning one from Techlicious?

From Geoff K on October 12, 2011 :: 3:49 pm

I’d use the Acer Iconia to survive long train rides to/from work by downloading and reading e-books and magazines, listen to steaming music, and review work files and documents.  Being able to multitask and use the tablet for both work and fun would definitely help me make the most of that time!

Great for the bathroom!

From Lawrence on October 12, 2011 :: 5:07 pm

I usually start my day on the crapper with a stack of newspapers and a cup of coffee.

The Iconia is large enough to read easily but not so large as to become cumbersome or knock my coffee cup over.

It would also be great to catch up on my morning email (like my Techlicious newsletter) without squinting at my smartphone.

By choosing me as the winner, you will be contributing to the environment as I can switch to online newspapers thus saving many trees from an untimely death.

My toilet and I thank you in advance,

Larry

Pass the Time

From KGreene on October 12, 2011 :: 6:56 pm

I just recently had to move from Florida to Nevada to help care for my Father-in-law. He has stage 4 cancer. He and I are usually passengers on the weekly trips into Las Vegas. It takes 1 1/2 hrs to get there from where he lives. His daughter drives. He has said multiple times it would be nice to have a laptop to play games on for the trips. But, Laptops need longer life batteries and WiFi to work. Tablets could use the network for games already installed and batteries would work. Would be nice if his daughter or I could get him one before the end.

to dip her toes (maybe fingers is more appropiate)into the 21st Century and try “some of this here techno stuff”. This would be a perfect fit for her - not too big, not too little, Just Right. She could keep in touch with her 6 kids, her 7,  grandchildren snd even her 10 greatgrandchildren.
And then, look at the world out in front of her - email, texting bad jokes to her kids. Maybe we’ll even get her on SKYPE so she can see all the kids when she’s talking to them. Please pick my mom, OK? Thanks

"How would you use your new Acer Iconia tablet?"

From C.S. on October 13, 2011 :: 1:29 am

“How would you use your new Acer Iconia tablet?”

I was recently diagnosed with a couple of rare disorders that resulted from a near fatal accident I survived in 2006.
Since then, i’ve spent more time in hospitals than I have at home; either talking to or being tested by, specialist after specialist or as a patient, fighting for what i’m not sure is truly be called life anymore.

“How would I use your new Acer Iconia tablet?”

It would be the “toy” I can’t afford because what little money I get from disability is being sucked up by medical expenses.

It would enable me to facetime with my family and friends whom i rarely get to see nevermind talk to.

It would give me the freedom to go anywhere I want, anywhere in the world I can imagine, in the blink of an eye via the internet.

I’d be able to chronicle and record all that i’m going through and make videoes for all my family and friends to see, so my memories will live longer than me.

Most importantly, it will give me all of the above and probably more that I will discover if and when I win, which equals what I am currently lacking= FREEDOM.

BUT… I’ve never won anything and if I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any at all…

So… remember that old saying, “...live each day as it is your last..”

Do it.

Peace.

How would I use my new Acer Iconia tablet?

From DirtyLipstix on October 13, 2011 :: 5:51 am

It’s an activity game room in a tablet. I’ll no longer need to take a bag full of things with me. (More room in my purse for snacks and juice boxes baby!)Although it may be fun to look out the car window, there are times when my child just can’t sit still. With my new Acer Iconia tablet, she can watch a show/movie, play games/color/draw a picture, we can read a book together, or even sing along to her favorite songs while we’re on the road. If mommy needs quiet time, she can use her headphones. I won’t have to take my camera with me because the Acer Iconia Tablet has a front and rear facing camera/video built right in. If I wanted to share a video of our day together with the rest of the family, we won’t need to get all huddled up to watch. I can actually hook up my tablet to my flat screen and speakers. My tablet runs on Gingerbread, which means the picture quality on the screen and upload/download time is faster. The touchscreen is more intuitive and battery management is right there on my screen. Talk about an upgrade! I can see a lot of good things coming out of Gingerbread alone. Last but not least, the most important thing of all..I’ll be able to check off items on my grocery list on my new Acer Iconia tablet, therefore, not having to look for or waste paper. I hate looking for paper!

My new Acer tablet...

From Susan on October 13, 2011 :: 9:35 am

Would go directly to my 77 year old husband who has been “poopooing” tech for as long as possible.
Getting him to use the ATM was a challenge.
(Now he spends the day in front of his PC patiently waiting to log on.)
I tell him every hour is valuable and he should update.
I let him borrow my I Pad to play Angry Birds and he was hooked.
(Think folks get younger as they get older)
He is a voracious reader and we do not have one more inch of book shelves left for his books.
He teaches entrepreneurship to college kids and current events to seniors, so this would put him in the 21st century with both groups of students.

How to use an Acer Tablet

From Robert Carroll on October 13, 2011 :: 10:22 am

For me I would use it for school and getting a job once I graduate. I am in Game Art at Full Sail would be nice to carry my visual resume with me when I go in for interviews. That would be a big part of having and using it. The rest would be as a PDA, I tend to use my phone for all of that right now and its a pain. Would be nice to have a tablet to help me keep everything organized.

I would use it to carry my resume with me. I am a student in computer animation and game art, so being able to carry a visual resume with me would be a big plus. The other half of having and using it would be more of a pda. I would use it to help me keep my life organized, it would be SO much better then using my phone.
