About the Lenovo Z560

Lenovo z560The Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 laptop (MSRP $849) uses Dolby Advanced Audio technology to provide great sound for your dorm room or home office. And Dolby is giving away this great laptop to one of our email subscribers!

PCs have never been known for delivering a great audio experience. Yet, Dolby Advanced Audio changes all that, restoring the realism of the original soundtrack, whether for movies, music or games. So you experience every detail exactly as it was intended to sound.

How does Dolby do it?

  • Audio Optimization dramatically improves laptop sound quality by compensating for response irregularities in the speakers built into your laptop
  • Dolby Headphone enables a great surround sound experience and works with any set of headphones, putting the user in the middle of the action.
  • Natural Bass and High Frequency Enhancer delivers sound that's more realistic and more dramatic than ever before.

According to research released today by Dolby, approximately 60 percent of surveyed college students are now using their PCs more than televisions for entertainment. In fact, the majority of students believe PCs deliver the best overall entertainment experience and, as a result, expect higher-quality audio. In addition, 64 percent watch entertainment on their computers with others, so great audio is critical when considering a back-to-school laptop!

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 includes an Intel Core i3 Processor, Intel HD Graphics, 15.6" HD Display, 3 GB Memory and a 500GB Hard Drive.

Official Rules

We will randomly select one (1) winner from the entries. No purchase is necessary to win. Maximum of one entry per person. The giveaway will end at 11:59pm on August 31st, 2010.  Void where prohibited. U.S. residents only. Click here for the full rules.

The laptop alone would improve my life but with Dolby Sound added it would be awesome. I just have an old desk top PC,not that I’m complaining it’s better than nothing but a laptop with sound opens up all kinds of wonderful possibilities. Thanks Techlicious for the contest.

I am a college student with a 5+ year old computer which is going to crap out any day now the sound quality is bad on this pc and trying to watch videos or listen to music is highly unpleasant, which can make a persons life miserable. Having good quality sound would bring pleasure to my ears and soul!

From Cory Zalneraitis on August 25, 2010 :: 1:31 am

Don’t laugh, I have an Acer 3680 (still running strong, thank you) that I have to use ear plugs for any audio and I still have a hard time hearing anything.

It would change everything for me since I love to listen to new music online and it would be easier to share media with my friends when they come over. A faster, better computer for school wouldn’t hurt either.

But the music, priorities, man!

From swisspotluck on August 26, 2010 :: 2:07 am

As I watch more programs listening to the computer I think that the Dolby Advanced Audio would make the whole experience more enjoyable.  My current speakers are really quiet and even turned up all the way, they are hard to hear and the quality is less than awesome.  When I wear headphones, they hurt my ears after a short while.  Not having ears in pain would improve my life.

Having great Dolby speakers would allow Laptops to be all that they can be! Movies, online, random videos, online chat, skype, etc; all those things that you do for fun would be mundane were it not for speakers.
But, there not only for fun. Powerpoint presentations and online network meeting would not be as productive.
