Lenovo U300s UltrabookThink you have to pay a hefty premium to get a thin and powerful laptop with good battery life? Not if you’re getting an Ultrabook™.

Ultrabooks are a new class of ultraportable laptops that measure less than 21mm thick, get five or more hours of battery life, use a powerful Intel® Core i3™, i5 or i7 processor and wake almost instantly from a sleep state. All for around $1,000.

Ultrabooks are the perfect laptop for people on the go, easily slipping into a bag or briefcase and barely noticeable from a weight perspective - you’ll find yourself bringing your laptop more places than ever before. With their ultra-slim profile, they’re also a dramatic style statement.

The 13" Lenovo® IdeaPad® U300s is a perfect example of everything an Ultrabook has to offer:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor
  • 128 GB solid state drive (much faster than a hard drive)
  • Just 0.59" thick and 2.91 pounds
  • 8 hours of battery life.

We're giving away a Lenovo U300s ($1049 MSRP) to one lucky Techlicious subscriber, courtesy of Intel! Enter through February 24th, 2012 for a chance to win.

I’m currently writing my first novel, and starting an online course through a college, so I definitely would use, would love, and would be thrilled, to own a new Intel powered Lenovo laptop! Especially since I’m sharing my current laptop with my roommate. Would be fantastic to have a brand new one all to myself! Thanks Techlicious! (I am already an email subscriber)

Microsoft dumped my Vista OS!

From Marcia Carter on January 24, 2012 :: 4:28 pm

Microsoft kicked my Vista OS to the curb! I need a new lightweight laptop! I am struggling just to keep my 2007 Toshiba Satellite operating since Vista is no longer supported by Microsoft.
I subscribe to the e-newsletter.
I really need a lightweight ultrabook as I have diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I try to supplement my family’s income with surveys, etc. It is difficult to handle my laptop with my disabilities. I got turned down by social security. Our family of 3 lives off of my hubby’s disability. Financially, a new laptop is an unrealistic dream. Pick me, pick me, PLEASE!!

Why I could use a new ultra book

From James Vollbrecht on January 24, 2012 :: 4:42 pm

Hi,

I am writing because I am desperate for a new laptop. I Am between jobs, going through a divorce from my wife with whom I have been for 18 years (I am 36), and I have almost no hope of winning a fair custody arrangement for my daughter bc I moved to take a job in Seattle from Dallas. I am hunting for a new job but need to stay in Seattle for a few more months until I can get out of my lease. As a result I have to travel to Texas all the time to see my daughter and to interview.

My current laptop is am x301… It is missing 4 keys, has been ritualistically abused by my daughter, and just barely runs- despite multiple parts replacemends I did on my own.

I would love something light that works, and it would definitely be a welcome change in fortune for me to win.

Thanks
James

I need a new reliable computer that fits the bill of the lenovo that you are giving away, something that would be small enough to take with me to VA appointments but still big enough see the screen without any trouble.

The need to be mobile

From Michelle Stice on January 24, 2012 :: 5:03 pm

My laptop is getting old and it has issues (like it stopped reading Discs/CD/DVD’s.  I have been looking at laptops, but as a stay at home mom of a 1 and 3 year old it is out of our budget to buy a quality laptop at this time.  I would rather wait than buy a cheaper laptop that will not work well or last as long.  Winning the Lenovo could be the answer to my problem.

College Student

From Candace Mapp on January 24, 2012 :: 5:24 pm

I am current a student attending Tidewater Community College, and my major is Computer Science. I work full-time and pay my tuition out of pocket in order to prevent myself from getting into a mountainof debt from school loans. I am constantly looking for a laptop that is light and portable so that it will be easy to carry around. This way I could work more efficently on my C++ Programs for my classes whenever and wherever I want to.
