Lenovo U300s UltrabookThink you have to pay a hefty premium to get a thin and powerful laptop with good battery life? Not if you’re getting an Ultrabook™.

Ultrabooks are a new class of ultraportable laptops that measure less than 21mm thick, get five or more hours of battery life, use a powerful Intel® Core i3™, i5 or i7 processor and wake almost instantly from a sleep state. All for around $1,000.

Ultrabooks are the perfect laptop for people on the go, easily slipping into a bag or briefcase and barely noticeable from a weight perspective - you’ll find yourself bringing your laptop more places than ever before. With their ultra-slim profile, they’re also a dramatic style statement.

The 13" Lenovo® IdeaPad® U300s is a perfect example of everything an Ultrabook has to offer:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor
  • 128 GB solid state drive (much faster than a hard drive)
  • Just 0.59" thick and 2.91 pounds
  • 8 hours of battery life.

We're giving away a Lenovo U300s ($1049 MSRP) to one lucky Techlicious subscriber, courtesy of Intel! Enter through February 24th, 2012 for a chance to win.

Graduation Gift

From Melissa Ochsner on January 24, 2012 :: 11:42 am

My daughter is graduating in May and had already told her that I would buy her a laptop for graduation; winning one would be even better! If I don’t win this one, I really like the specs and is now at the top of my list for the potential purchase (should I not win). I am especially impressed with the solid state drive (for an accident prone teenager) and long battery life!

Lenovo Laptop

I have had a run of bad luck lately. Working from three different laptops since each one has different components I need (1-touchscreen for work applications, 1 wifi, 1 cd/dvd drive).  It would be sooooooo nice to only have one WORKING computer!

Why Me.

From Jennifer on January 24, 2012 :: 11:44 am

The Lenovo Ultrabook would be and is the best way to stay on top of changing trends, gadgets, programs, what’s going on in the world, homework, and research, and entering giveaways!  Plus a new computer would help my son in college immensely! The upgraded and up to date everything in it would make sure he maintains honors in school, since his major is in the computer sciences what better than a new and really great computer to give him. Then his old one could be passed on to another family member that needs one, so quite a few people would be helped by winning, not just one.  Well that’s the story in short form.  Now if the random picker elves that you use would just land on mine to be graced by them and the generous win, I would do a jig all over the house and jump for joy at the luck that bestowed a Lenovo Ultrabook upon us.  Fingers, toes, eyes, hair and whatever else I can cross is now crossed.  Got my horseshoe, four leaf and six leaf clovers, special penny, among other knick knacks for luck, rubbed the tummy of the buddha statue and now the wait to see if that was enough. :D Thank you for another wonderful giveaway.

From Guadalupe Valdez on January 24, 2012 :: 11:45 am

I saw my laptop on one of the old syfy movies (1995). It’s a dinosaur (big, really heavy, and clunky)compared to todays models. I hate to move it. Even the lap top bag is heavy. Just think if i had to go through airline security with this thing, much less check it in, an easy $50.00 extra. Have pity

From Pam M on January 24, 2012 :: 11:46 am

I could really use this laptop as I do not own one and I am a high school administrative assistant and treasurer in Indiana. With the winter weather, it is difficult to get into school somedays and some days we just can not have school.  If I had a wonderful laptop like this I could keep up on my work from home and not be so far behind all of the time. With the financial aid cuts being made in education our school can not afford to provide me with a laptop at this time. So having one would be a God send for me!!

From Carla Jackson on January 24, 2012 :: 11:47 am

My husband (writer/director) and I (producer/marketer) are fledgling filmmakers. We still hold down day jobs, and are parents of two boys and one cutiepie dog Chopper. We go to A LOT of meetings and desperately need to have a laptop to show films, take notes, and have an office on the road. You can help two people at one time when it comes to this family pretty please.

From Pam M on January 24, 2012 :: 11:49 am

I would love to have a wonderful laptop like this for several reasons.

1. I am a high school administrative assistant and treasurer in Indiana.

2. With the winter weather here in Indiana I am unable to get to work somedays and somedays we can’t have school.  With a laptop like this I could keep up with my work regardless of the weather and not get so far behind.

3. With the major cuts in education financial aid, my school corporation can not afford to provide me with a laptop at this time.

For Traveling

From Erin Walsh on January 24, 2012 :: 11:52 am

I waited years to be able to afford a laptop. And was thrilled when I bought my first one. Unfortunately it was at the time that Windows Vista was the OS of choice.

I have hated the thing ever since. I can count on two hands the number of times I’ve tried to use it. I despise Vista itself and it is so slow that I usually don’t last more than a few minutes before I’m back to my desktop.

I’ve thought about just buying Windows 7 for it and buying more memory but the whole thought just frustrates me, about how much money I just threw away already on the thing.

I would love a chance to win this and start all over fresh. Thanks for the chance!

why do...

From matt on January 24, 2012 :: 11:54 am

Why do i deserve an Ultrabook? Why don’t I?
I’m 55, and i can’t find a job even though I have 2 college degrees, I had to declare bankruptcy this year, my parents are paying my rent, i had a car accident that wasn’t my fault even though i have to pay for everything, i dropped my 6 month old smart phone in a pail of water and now that’s fried, somebody tried to break into my apartment while i was out of town over the holidays, and i have diabetes. I should have something good happen this year!
