Lenovo U300s UltrabookThink you have to pay a hefty premium to get a thin and powerful laptop with good battery life? Not if you’re getting an Ultrabook™.

Ultrabooks are a new class of ultraportable laptops that measure less than 21mm thick, get five or more hours of battery life, use a powerful Intel® Core i3™, i5 or i7 processor and wake almost instantly from a sleep state. All for around $1,000.

Ultrabooks are the perfect laptop for people on the go, easily slipping into a bag or briefcase and barely noticeable from a weight perspective - you’ll find yourself bringing your laptop more places than ever before. With their ultra-slim profile, they’re also a dramatic style statement.

The 13" Lenovo® IdeaPad® U300s is a perfect example of everything an Ultrabook has to offer:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor
  • 128 GB solid state drive (much faster than a hard drive)
  • Just 0.59" thick and 2.91 pounds
  • 8 hours of battery life.

We're giving away a Lenovo U300s ($1049 MSRP) to one lucky Techlicious subscriber, courtesy of Intel! Enter through February 24th, 2012 for a chance to win.

Why I need a new Lenovo

From Ellen on January 24, 2012 :: 12:46 pm

Because my laptop weighs a ton - it hurts my back to lift my laptop bag!

For Liberian Orphans

From Lisa Frost on January 24, 2012 :: 12:46 pm

Our recycling group helps support 85 orphans in Liberia. We would LOVE to be able to send them this Ultrabook so they can share their stories and needs with supporters here in the US. We are sure that we could get more people to help if they could communicate better with us. You can see photos and learn more on our website

From Nancy Rybacki on January 24, 2012 :: 12:46 pm

I chose my current Dell laptop for its screen size - a mistake - it is heavy and cumbersome to travel with!

From Linda on January 24, 2012 :: 12:47 pm

I’ve had a crazy jinxed year & need a break!  Please tun my luck around smile  Never been in an accident til now - in my new minivan.  My new iPhone was dropped in water by my daughter in the first month and died. My second new phone was stolen out of my wallet. My ancient laptop can’t do anything - not even hold a battery charge.  Truly, I could go on about this jinxed year but I think u get the idea.

New Laptop - Yay!!!!!!!

From Cheryl on January 24, 2012 :: 12:48 pm

A new laptop would be wonderful.  Have an old Dell and some of my keys have no covers, too slow (snail mail is faster).  Spend a lot of hours on computer and would really love a new laptop.

Would be sooo wonderful!

From LuAnn Balza on January 24, 2012 :: 12:49 pm

My desktop is 7 years old, might not be old for some, but it is showing signs of it’s demise. A new laptop would just be an amazing event in my life. It would be a miracle!

For my teen

From Karla on January 24, 2012 :: 12:50 pm

My 16 year old is in increasingly difficult classes, and a computer he could take with him would be a big help.

I don't have a "personal" laptop!

From Tammi on January 24, 2012 :: 12:51 pm

I gave up my Macbook when I left my last job.  Since that time I have been given a low end Dell to use at work and bring home when needed.  I would love to have a laptop of my own so I don’t get low end work stuff or have to give back the good stuff!!

Old Lady Needs New Technology!

From Thurma Livingston-Morrison on January 24, 2012 :: 12:52 pm

I am a “mature” lady but still very computer savy and am ready to graduate from the old dinosaur PC on my desktop to a more up to date, sleek technology. When I travel this summer this would be just the thing I need to take care of everything I need to while I’m on the road.

Why not?

From George Campbell on January 24, 2012 :: 12:52 pm

Because my 9 pound brick of a dell is killing me. Would nice to have an operating system made in this century. Why should all the cool kids have the new stuff.

Pathetic laptop

From Laura on January 24, 2012 :: 12:52 pm

I can’t even download updates to my current computer.

From Ollie Moss on January 24, 2012 :: 12:53 pm

We have a desk top computer at our house and it used by everyone, but mostly my 11 year old son who has lots of homework and my daughter when she is home from college. I am a avid reader and I love the ebooks. I don’t want to blog down the family computer with them so this will be perfect for me.

Hope I win!!

From Nancy on January 24, 2012 :: 12:55 pm

My Dell is soooo old and is always locking up. The tech guy where I work says Lenovo makes the best laptops, so I’d love to replace my Dell with this one!

From Ken on January 24, 2012 :: 12:57 pm

Because need and want are two different things—I want a Lenovo Ultrabook!

From Judy Dailey on January 24, 2012 :: 12:57 pm

I have a Lenovo desktop and love it but it is getting so old like me and doesn’t want to work so well now.. Would love to have laptop as i am unable to sit in one place for a long period and would love having the second Lenovo product
I am retired and could use a break lol

My laptop is on its last leg.

From Michelle on January 24, 2012 :: 12:58 pm

I would love a new computer - the old one we have is so slow and the replacement Dell we bought already died less than 2 years after we purchased it. Don’t buy an refurbished computer. They offer no support and you are out of luck when it dies.

From Laurel Haswell on January 24, 2012 :: 12:58 pm

I would love to have a new laptop!  I am constantly editing pictures of my son and sharing them with family that lives too far to see him all the time!  My current laptop (netbook) is just too small and it gets very frustrating to use!

My great aunt needs one

From michelle fuller on January 24, 2012 :: 12:59 pm

She is the family matriarch, and she needs this laptop to keep in touch with family in Virginia,South Carolina, Ohio,Virginia,North Carolina, New York and Georgia.

...tired and war-torn, is losing keys.  It wants to retire.

Please enter me into the Ultrabook contest!

From Cherie N Reed-Cochran on January 24, 2012 :: 1:00 pm

I currently have an 18” hefty monster that’s not very portable at all, therefore not very useful. With my bad back, a lighter load is always a necessity!

From Allisen on January 24, 2012 :: 1:01 pm

I want to get back into scrapbooking and photo editing this winter.  I also want to help my daughter edit some videos she took with her camera.  My current computer is too slow.

From LaVerne Rogers on January 24, 2012 :: 1:02 pm

My current notebook is slow, with no battery life and uses Vista, which sucks.

laptop - yay

From Freesia H. on January 24, 2012 :: 1:02 pm

Would be nice!

From Charisse Andrews on January 24, 2012 :: 1:02 pm

My laptop is running on fumes and after reading about the features and that it is so lightweight, it would be wonderful to be updated with a Lenovo!

An Ultrabook would land me in the 21st Century

From Denise on January 24, 2012 :: 1:04 pm

Time to replace a freebie 10” notebook that came with a Dell desktop purchased several years ago. Trying to browse on that thing is like watching grass grow.  Can you say S L O W????

Lenovo Laptop Sweeps

From Tracy Wright on January 24, 2012 :: 1:06 pm

Need a new laptop so I can dedicate one computer to my photographs. Being a photographer I am always loading and editing photos. This would work well.
Thanks for the opportunity!

I need it because

From Linda Schabelski on January 24, 2012 :: 1:08 pm

The computer is in the living room which is rather cold in winter and I’d love to be able to have alap top that I could use anywhere. I’m tires of being “tied down” I want to the “free”.

Too old for anything big or complicated...

From Allie on January 24, 2012 :: 1:09 pm

When you reach age 86 ( 87 come Feb 14th ), there are only so many things your mind and body can handle. Hope this could be one of those and will not need to bother son to use his big old desktop machine on odd occasions.

Want it.

From Teresa on January 24, 2012 :: 1:09 pm

I need to win, cause mine is so old… time to upgrade.

I'm tired of dragging around

From joseph midura on January 24, 2012 :: 1:12 pm

I’m tired of dragging around 100 foot extension cords, a desktop unit, a CRT monitor and a mouse   I know I need exercise, but this is ridiculous
I could really, really use a good laptop to do my work away from home
it would sure be easier than driving down the highway only to have the extension cord always getting pulled out of the wall

It's a trip...national tour that is...

From Susan on January 24, 2012 :: 1:12 pm

We’re hitting the road this spring to visit lavender growers across the country and presenting lavender growing workshops along the way. Intel’s Lenovo Ultrabook would be a welcome addition to our technology box that’s far to heavy with the antique laptop we currently use!

We’re packing our our bags…follow the fun at the blog…

With grins,

Three kids, techy wife...

From Marcus on January 24, 2012 :: 1:13 pm

Between my three kids and my tech junkie of a wife, all the cool toys are taken by the time I get home from work. This new Lenovo will let me hide it under my jacket and I can smuggle it upstairs to my cave without them seeing it. (Plus, I can be more productive, right?)

From Kerry on January 24, 2012 :: 1:13 pm

I NEED a Lenovo…my laptop died over Christmas and my desktop just celebrated it’s 9th birthday!!
