There may be no better time to buy a TV. Retailers are eager to clear out their inventories of 2010 models to make way for the 2011 models that are just starting to ship. So there are huge discounts available, from 35% to 58% off retail, for some of last year's best TVs.
And if you're worried about not having the "latest" technology, don't be. Except for some of the high-end models, most of the technology improvements for 2011 are minor.
Our friend Gary Merson, over at HD Guru, put together a list of his picks for the best TV deals currently available on Amazon. Gary's the guy we go to when we have questions about TV technology—he really knows his stuff.
Gary found that the best deals are on the leftover 2010 3D Ready 240 Hz LED and plasmas from LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba. Keep in mind, 3D TVs make the best 2D images, so even if you don’t intend to use the feature, you’ll be getting a fantastic 2D TV.
