The annual Shop.org eHoliday survey of online retailers found that nine of ten (92.5 percent) plan to offer free shipping this holiday season, and the inducements may be more generous, as well. While the official start of the holiday shopping season occurs on the day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, BlackFriday2011.com is up and running now. It contains leaked Black Friday ads by major stores such as Best Buy, Kohl's, Macy's, Old Navy, Sears and Target, plus shopping tips and predictions.
Cyber Monday, the Monday following Thanksgiving, is traditionally the biggest online shopping day of the year and as in past years, more than 700 retailers who are members of the National Retail Federation have come together to support CyberMonday.com, Shop.org's shopping website. It is already up and running and features a variety of promotional offers, including discounted prices and free shipping deals.
