The M5 MacBook Air is $199 off – and starts with 512GB of storage

by Suzanne Kantra on May 27, 2026

The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air is at its lowest price since launching in March

Apple's 2026 MacBook Air with the M5 chip is down to $899.99 on Amazon – nearly $200 off the $1,099.00 list price and the lowest it has sold for since launching in March. All four colors are on sale.

The M5 Air launched just two months ago with a big storage upgrade over the M4 version: the base storage now starts at 512GB instead of 256GB, which means you don't need to pay extra just to get a usable amount of space. The M5 chip itself brings a faster CPU and GPU over the M4, plus a next-generation Neural Engine for Apple Intelligence features.

The rest of the package is the same thin, fanless design that has made the Air the best-selling Mac for years. You get a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, 16GB of unified memory, up to 18 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi 7, and a 12MP Center Stage camera – enough for most people to run through a full workday without thinking about performance or power.

At $1,099, the M5 Air is a reasonable buy. At $900, it's the one to get. Previous MacBook Air generations typically didn't see discounts this deep until Prime Day or Black Friday, so this is earlier and steeper than usual for a model that's only been out a few months.

The 15-inch M5 MacBook Air is also at an all-time low right now, starting at $1,099 (down from $1,299) if you want more screen. Upgraded configurations with 16GB/1TB and 24GB/1TB are discounted as well, though at smaller percentages.
