Ring's flagship wired doorbell just got its first real discount. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) is $199.99 at Amazon right now – $50 off the regular $249.99 – and this is only the second time it's been marked down since launching last fall. That makes it an all-time low.
Launched last fall, the Wired Doorbell Pro comes with a hardware overhaul that went well beyond a spec bump. The camera jumps from 1080p to 4K with up to 10x enhanced zoom, so you can actually make out a face or a license plate, not just know that something moved. The field of view shifts to a 1:1 square aspect ratio, which captures a full head-to-toe view of whoever's at the door while still showing the ground – the previous wired Pro used a wider, shorter frame that cropped the bottom of the picture and missed packages sitting at someone's feet.
Low-Light Sight delivers full-color video in near-dark conditions using ambient street lighting, switching to black-and-white only when there's nothing to work with. 3D Motion Detection pinpoints the location of activity on your property for more precise alerts, cutting down on the constant pings from every passing car.
Two-way talk is here with Audio+, which Ring says improves sound clarity for back-and-forth conversations. Alexa integration lets you get announcements on Echo speakers and see live video on Echo Show devices.
Installation requires existing doorbell wiring. You'll need a transformer rated for 16-24VAC at 10-40VA (30-40VA recommended), which most homes with a traditional wired doorbell already have.
A Ring Protect subscription ($4.99/month or $49.99/year for one device) unlocks video history and smart alerts. You can use the doorbell without it – you'll still get real-time Live View and two-way talk – but you won't be able to review footage you missed.
The Deep Silver finish is $199.99. Polished Mocha, Polished Night Navy, and Polished Sandstone run $209.99.
