The Dyson Airwrap i.d. curls your hair for you, and it's $130 off

by Suzanne Kantra on August 28, 2026

Dyson Airwrap i.d. multistyler used to curl hair.

Dyson

The Dyson Airwrap i.d.'s party trick is fully automated curling with a single switch. Flip it, drape a section of hair over the barrel, and the styler runs through wrapping, curling, and a cool shot all on its own – no counting seconds or hunting for the cool-shot button mid-curl. That entire sequence is timed to a hair profile you build in Dyson's app, and this customization is what separates the new i.d. model from the original Dyson Airwrap and the wave of cheaper copycats it inspired.

You can now pick up the Airwrap i.d. with six attachments on Amazon for $519.99, 20% off its $649.99 list price.

Beyond its smarts, the i.d.'s curling tool is designed to prevent heat damage that comes from styling every day. Built around the Coanda effect, air blasts out of the barrel in a way that pulls hair around it and shapes the curl as it dries, instead of relying on the direct heat a curling iron uses. The barrels also curl clockwise or counterclockwise with a twist of the same wand, a feature missing from most of the budget alternatives it competes with, including its biggest competitor the $279.99 Shark FlexStyle.

The i.d. also doubles as a capable hair dryer once you swap on the Fast dryer attachment, so it's not a tool that will sit in a drawer between curl days.

The Airwrap i.d. is still a splurge at $519.99. But it makes sense for someone who curls their hair often enough to appreciate the difference between guessing at timing and having the machine handle it. And it will save you a bundle on getting it done at a salon.
